The New Baby's Dying To Tell Their Friends. Yes? or No?
What would you do if your new prospect says "Oh, this is great. Let me
call the people I know. They're going to LOVE this!"
Sounds good, right? Tell them 'go for it' right?
Hmmm. Before you say 'Yes', let me ask you this:
Remember at the beginning, when you were extra excited about your service, your product or your business? And you charged right off to tell people you knew? What happened to you?
Ohh. Righhht.
And what happened to your enthusiasm?
Ugh.
The unexpected reactions of 90-95% of people's friends, family and neighbors is perhaps the #1 reason people lose their enthusiasm, lose their confidence, and decide not to do the business anymore.
You know that now though, right?
So what else can you do if your new prospect says "Oh this is great. Let me call the people I know. They're going to LOVE this!"
How about this?
You:
"Great! Let's crank out some Dear Friend Letters (DFLs) to all of them right now, and let the letters do the work while we have cappuccino or do maybe some newspaper ads or some street walking. How does that sound?
I have a Dear Friend letter form right here in the book and we'll
personalize it right now. That will save you a lot of time as well. You want
to do that?"
Go right to their Truth book and show them the Dear Friend Letter (DFL) to personalize.
No need to tell them what is likely to happen if they call their contacts. Spare them. Get the letters personalized, and sent. Help them do it so you know it will happen. DO IT IN TEAMS, even if it's just the two of you. Over Lattes is great for personalizing DFLs.
Remember, do you want them to keep their enthusiasm? Or do you want to pick them up off the floor after they hit on people they know?
The DFL is on p. 86 of the Truth book See http://maxout.com/products.html
